At Least One Hospitalized Following Amazon Truck Collision
If you encountered traffic disruptions on North John Wayne Parkway or noticed delays with your Amazon delivery today, a recent accident is to blame.
Maricopa and Ak-Chin police responded to a collision occurring in the southbound lanes of John Wayne Parkway at West Juan Street at approximately 1:04 p.m.
Witnesses reported seeing an electric Amazon delivery truck involved in the crash, which sustained damage primarily to its front bumper. Additionally, a Lexus sedan showed extensive damage to both the driver and passenger sides, with airbags deployed inside.
Maricopa Police Sgt. Chance Jordan was on-site to remove a broken street sign obstructing the road following the incident.
Medical responders transported at least one woman to a hospital, though the full extent of her injuries and whether additional individuals were harmed remains unclear at this time.
As a result of the crash, southbound traffic on John Wayne Parkway has been blocked, with vehicles being rerouted onto Juan Street.
