Ahdiayh Chee Shines with 12 Points as Aztec Women Dominate ACU JV
The Pima Community College women’s basketball team celebrated a decisive non-conference victory on Thursday, defeating Arizona Christian University JV 85-46 in Glendale. This marks their third consecutive win, bringing their season record to 12-3 and earning them a No. 13 ranking.
Pima set an aggressive pace from the beginning, dominating the first quarter with a staggering 29-8 advantage. By halftime, they held a comfortable lead of 45-21, consistently outplaying their opponents throughout the game.
Freshman Kiley Sours-Miller led the Aztecs with 13 points, complementing her scoring effort with eight rebounds and two blocks. Close behind, freshman Ahdiayh Chee scored 12 points off the bench, showcasing her shooting accuracy with four successful field goals, including three from beyond the arc.
Sophomore Rori Hoffmeyer also made a significant impact, contributing 11 points along with eight rebounds and two assists. Additional contributions came from freshman Lucy Land, who added eight points and rebounds, and sophomore Mattanaya Vital, who scored eight points on an efficient 4 for 6 shooting performance.
Freshman Kennedi Niemann tallied eight points, two assists, and two steals, while Melicia Nelson recorded six points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. Lastly, sophomore Reece Niemann made her mark with seven points from three-point range, and freshman Cassie Coolidge rounded out the contributions with five points, four rebounds, and three assists.
From beyond the arc, the Aztecs shot 7 for 15 and demonstrated great teamwork with 24 assists on 33 made field goals. They will return to their home court at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium on Saturday to face Scottsdale Community College in ACCAC conference action, with tipoff scheduled for 2 p.m.
