2 kids at large, 2 more charged with smoke-bombing Villages home

Four teenagers are facing charges for allegedly burglarizing a home and causing a disturbance in the Villages at Rancho El Dorado community. The incident occurred last night, as reported by police.

Responding to a house fire on Donithan Way near Knauss Drive, Maricopa Fire and Medical Department arrived at the scene around 6:32 p.m. Initial reports indicated smoke, but firefighters later determined that no fire was present.

According to MPD spokesperson Monica Williams, the teens broke into the home, stole items, and activated a smoke bomb before escaping. Two of the suspects were apprehended shortly after the incident but were released into their parents’ custody.

These individuals are charged with burglary, criminal damage, and theft. The police are still investigating and actively seeking the other suspects involved. Residents with information are urged to contact the Maricopa Police Department at 520-568-3673.
